ARMIDALE & NEW ENGLAND WOOL EXPO

11th - 16th May 2012

With over 10,000 visitors expected The Wool Expo combines fashion displays and demonstrations, Crowds will be entertained by the horse Whisper. There will also be tours to the livestock sales yard, so you will be able to see how the livestock sales are conducted. Wood chopping, lamb competition. Alpaca displays, yard dog demonstrations, and sheep shearing workshops. All coming together to make it a fantastic wool expo. To top it off The Australian Wool Fashion Awards parades will be conducted over the days of the expo.

LAKE EYRE, ADELAIDE & BROKEN HILL

28th May - 7th June 2012

Once again, as a result of the2010/11 summer floods throughout Queensland, huge amounts of water have drained into the inland river system. The Diamantina, Warburton, Barcoo and Thompson Rivers are just a few of the creeks and rivers that make up a network of natural drainage that delivers vast amounts of water into two Lakes – Lake Eyre North and Lake Eyre South. These lakes lie within the Lake Eyre National Park which has a combined area of nearly 10,000 square kms. For the second time in two years the Lakes have come to life and swarm with pelicans, seagulls, other water birds and fish. Our tour will take us first to Adelaide and then to Roxby Downs in the far north of South Australia. From here we will take a flight to see this rare event - when Lake Eyre is in flood.
